Eight Cafe & Co is currently seeking a permanent full-time Chef to join its team at Carrara. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic kitchen environment, contributing to food preparation, menu execution, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation. A competitive salary package will be offered, commensurate with the applicant’s experience and qualifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and organize the preparation and cooking of authentic Indian dishes and menus.
- Develop and design menus considering seasonal availability, customer preferences, and cost factors.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Ensure quality, consistency, and presentation of all food prepared and served.
- Monitor food preparation and cooking methods to maintain authenticity and hygiene standards.
- Estimate food requirements and manage inventory, ordering, and storage of ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and occupational health standards.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering skill development and teamwork.
- Control costs by managing portion sizes, minimizing waste, and optimizing resources.
- Innovate and create new dishes to enhance the restaurant’s menu and customer experience.
ATTRIBUTES:
- 1 year of relevant qualification is required.
- 1 year work experience in a relevant discipline is required,
- Committed to adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries at the workplace.

Salary: $81,000 – $83,000 annually
