An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Finance Officer to join a well-established and highly regarded South Australian organisation in a fast-paced finance team. This temporary assignment will commence in mid-September and run through to late October or early November, with the potential for extension depending on business requirements.This role is ideal for a capable Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable professional who enjoys a hands-on environment and can quickly become a valuable member of the team.
Your new role
Working as part of a collaborative finance team, your responsibilities will include:
- End-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing
- Supplier and customer account management
- Bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Investigation and resolution of account discrepancies
- Assisting with month-end finance activities
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal controls
- Supporting the broader finance function with ad hoc duties as required
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Officer or similar position
- Strong Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience
- The ability to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
- Experience preparing and maintaining reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- A sound understanding of financial accounting principles and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, risks and opportunities
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar accounting software
- Experience with purchase order systems such as Basware will be highly regarded
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-focused approach
