Dockmaster
- Deliver customer service to marina members and users, including berth allocation and assistance with docking, undocking and vessel services.
- Monitor marina operations, safety and security across Sanctuary Cove and Coomera Waters, and assist with supervising casual dockhands.
- Support marina maintenance and special events, including the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
Sanctuary Cove Marina is looking for a self-motivated and energetic person to join its team. The Dockmaster role is responsible for providing a high standard of customer service to marina users, as well as ensuring the marina environment is kept safe, clean and tidy.
Working closely with the General Manager and Marina Operations Officer, key responsibilities for the Dockmaster include:
- Ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to marina members and customers in collaboration with the General Manager, Marina Manager, and Dockhands.
- Assigning casual marina berths, monitoring marina area, and overseeing marina movements at both Sanctuary Cove and Coomera Waters Marinas
- Assisting customers, at their berth, with docking and undocking procedures.
- Assisting with fuelling, pumping out waste enquiries, and other vessel services.
- Liaising with security for any after-hours activity, such as vessels arriving outside of office hours.
- Ensuring the safety and security of docked vessels, especially during weather events.
- Assisting with the day-to-day supervision of the Casual Dockhands.
- Assisting with special events including the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
Other reasonable duties as required.
YOUR BACKGROUND
- 2+ years’ experience in dockhand, dockmaster or similar roles within the marine industry
- Strong understanding of standard marina operations
- Demonstrated experience assisting customers in a busy marina
- Experience in general maintenance in a marina environment an advantage
- Sound knowledge of health and safety standards
- Computer literate with the ability to learn and use a range of programs
- Certificate in marina operations or related field desirable
- Valid Boat Licence required
- Ability to swim
