Your new role
Reporting to an international General Counsel and working closely with senior leaders across the business, you will provide broad legal support to a diverse portfolio of commercial, manufacturing and development activities. This is a hands-on role suited to a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys partnering closely with the business and delivering practical, solutions-focused advice.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements and business contracts.
• Advising on commercial, corporate and operational legal matters.
• Supporting business stakeholders on legal risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Providing advice across privacy, competition and consumer law, intellectual property and anti-bribery compliance matters.
• Assisting with governance and company secretarial matters as required.
• Supporting environmental and employment law issues relevant to the Australian business.
• Delivering legal training to internal stakeholders on key compliance and policy matters.
• Assisting with legal budgeting, forecasting and monitoring of legal expenditure.
• Working closely with procurement, finance, commercial and operational teams to facilitate business objectives while appropriately managing risk.
• Supporting the implementation and ongoing compliance of contract management systems, policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will be an Australian qualified lawyer with approximately 5+ years' post-admission experience gained in-house and/or within private practice.
You will bring:

• Strong commercial contracting, negotiation and drafting experience.
• The ability to provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders.
• Experience advising on compliance and risk management matters.
• Exposure to privacy, governance or broader regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Sound issue-spotting skills across areas including competition and consumer law, intellectual property, privacy and anti-bribery legislation.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A collaborative and proactive approach, coupled with sound judgement and attention to detail.

Industry experience is not essential. Lawyers from a broad range of sectors will be considered, provided they can demonstrate strong commercial contracting and business partnering capability.
