Melbourne, VIC
Salary: $115,000 – $135,000 + Super

A leading provider of temporary air conditioning and HVAC rental solutions is seeking an experienced HVAC Sales Engineer to join their Melbourne team.

The business specialises in the hire and rental of portable air conditioning units, chillers, packaged systems, ventilation equipment, and temporary cooling solutions. Their services support a wide range of sectors including commercial construction, industrial sites, healthcare facilities, events, and emergency breakdown situations. The company is known for delivering fast, reliable, and technically sound climate control solutions where permanent systems are unavailable, unsuitable, or temporarily offline.

This role is ideal for a technically minded sales professional who enjoys problem-solving, customer engagement, and delivering tailored HVAC solutions in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities across the Melbourne region while managing existing client relationships and supporting project delivery from enquiry through to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and developing new HVAC rental and temporary cooling opportunities
  • Managing inbound enquiries and converting them into confirmed projects
  • Conducting site visits to assess client requirements and system needs
  • Designing and recommending suitable temporary HVAC solutions
  • Preparing detailed quotations, proposals, and hire agreements
  • Coordinating with operations and technical teams to ensure timely delivery and installation
  • Building and maintaining relationships with builders, contractors, facilities managers, and project engineers
  • Responding to urgent and emergency cooling requirements
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and sales pipeline activity

About You

  • Experience in HVAC sales, mechanical services, technical sales, or equipment hire industries
  • Strong understanding of air conditioning systems, chillers, or ventilation principles
  • Proven ability in business development and account management
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
  • Current Australian driver’s licence

Experience within HVAC contracting, mechanical services, temporary cooling hire, facilities management, or industrial equipment rental will be highly regarded.
