  • Help shape the people strategy of an organisation committed to ending homelessness.

About our client

Founded in 2015, Dignity began with a bold vision: to ensure people experiencing homelessness are treated with dignity. What started as a single guest home for women and children has grown into a national organisation supporting hundreds of people through temporary accommodation, longer-term housing and homelessness prevention programs.

Today, Dignity supports up to 450 people across 27 locations and delivers more than 200,000 meals annually through programs designed to support people before they reach crisis point.

As we continue to grow as an organisation, we are seeking a People & Culture Business Partner to lead our people function and help shape the next stage of our journey.

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive salary plus superannuation
  • Salary packaging benefits to increase take-home pay
  • Flexible hybrid working arrangements
  • Professional development opportunities
  • A collaborative, values-driven leadership team
  • Meaningful work that contributes to preventing and ending homelessness

About the Role

Reporting directly to the CEO and leading one direct report, this role combines strategic and operational people leadership. You will be a trusted advisor to leaders across the organisation, supporting workforce planning, employee relations, organisational capability and culture, while ensuring strong foundations remain in place across compliance, systems and people processes.

This is not a traditional HR role, this person will lead the people function into the next phase of growth. Success in this position requires someone who is comfortable moving between strategic and operational work, enjoys building solutions in a growing organisation, and brings a practical, collaborative approach to people and culture.

This is a hybrid role requiring regular travel across operational sites in Sydney's Greater Western Sydney, South West and Illawarra regions, and flexibility to respond to business needs as they arise.
Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders across the organisation to provide strategic and operational people advice that supports organisational growth, workforce capability and a positive employee experience.
  • Lead and develop the People & Culture function, including coaching and supporting a direct report while fostering an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Build leadership capability through coaching, guidance and practical support across employee relations, performance, engagement and people management matters.
  • Lead the ongoing development of learning and development frameworks, leadership programs and capability-building initiatives that support employee growth and organisational success.
  • Provide expert advice on employment legislation, workforce risk and compliance.
  • Use workforce data and insights to identify opportunities, inform decision-making and support continuous improvement across the employee lifecycle.
  • Work collaboratively across the organisation, rolling up your sleeves where needed and contributing to a culture where people work together to achieve meaningful outcomes.

About You
You are an experienced HR generalist who enjoys partnering with leaders, solving problems and helping organisations grow. You bring the credibility to influence senior stakeholders while remaining hands-on and willing to roll up your sleeves when needed.

You'll bring:

  • Minimum five years' experience in a Business Partner or senior HR generalist role.
  • Qualifications in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Fair Work and Modern Awards.
  • Experience managing employee relations matters and coaching leaders.
  • Experience designing and implementing HR policies, procedures and people initiatives.
  • Strong workforce reporting and data analysis capability.
  • A current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel between sites as required.
  • Experience supporting SCHADS Award workforces is desirable.
