Presales Solutions Engineer (Cloud & Observability)

Client introduction
Our client is a Singapore-headquartered technology company with a growing presence across the region and globally. Their observability platform helps businesses understand how their applications, cloud environments and infrastructure are performing. As they expand, they are hiring a Presales Solutions Engineer in Singapore to work closely with customers on solution design, product demonstrations and technical evaluations.
The role combines hands-on technical work with customer discussions, demos and solution design. It would suit someone already in presales or technical consulting, or an engineer who enjoys explaining technology and wants to move into a more customer-facing role.
Job responsibilities
- Work with the sales team to understand customers’ systems, operational challenges and what they want to achieve
- Lead technical discussions and recommend solutions that fit each customer’s environment
- Build and present tailored demos and proofs of concept, with clear objectives agreed with the customer up front
- Get hands-on during evaluations - connecting data sources, setting up dashboards and alerts, and troubleshooting integration issues
- Use metrics, logs and traces to investigate performance problems and walk customers through the findings
- Prepare solution proposals, architecture diagrams and responses to technical queries, RFPs and security questionnaires
- Work with product, engineering and support teams on technical issues and customer onboarding
- Run technical workshops and training for customers and partners, and keep demo environments and guides up to date
- Use AI tools in day-to-day research, scripting and preparation, and take responsibility for checking the output
Job requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant experience, including hands-on technical work in software engineering, cloud, DevOps, SRE, security engineering or a related field
- Customer-facing technical experience in presales, professional services, implementation or client workshops is strongly preferred. Engineers looking to move into presales are also welcome
- Able to write or debug code or scripts, work with APIs and troubleshoot technical issues
- Practical experience with at least one cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
- Working knowledge of Linux, application architectures and containers; familiarity with Kubernetes would be useful
- Able to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences
- Practical experience using AI assistants or coding tools, with the ability to check, test and explain the results
- Exposure to monitoring, APM or observability tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, Splunk, Elastic or Grafana would be an advantage
