Senior BA position supporting major insurance and regulatory reform

Senior Reform Business Analyst
12-month contract | Melbourne CBD | Hybrid working | Major insurance and regulatory transformation programme

Your new company
Join a large Victorian regulatory organisation undergoing significant transformation across insurance, consumer protection and regulatory services. They are seeking an experienced Senior Reform Business Analyst to support the design and implementation of new insurance and regulatory processes.

Your new role
As Senior Reform Business Analyst, you will work closely with senior insurance leaders, operational SMEs, legal stakeholders, consultants and technology delivery partners to turn regulatory reform into practical, workable business processes.

A key focus will be designing future-state insurance and claims processes, using lessons from existing operations to ensure new solutions work effectively for customers and operational teams.

You will challenge proposed solutions against operational requirements and translate agreed process designs into clear system requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria for technology delivery.

As the programme develops, you will apply this approach to further regulatory reforms and transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Design future state insurance, claims and regulatory processes.
  • Translate legislation, regulation and policy into practical operational processes.
  • Work with insurance and claims SMEs to understand current processes, issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop process maps, swim lanes and operational documentation.
  • Translate business designs into system requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Support requirements across Salesforce and case-management technology.
  • Facilitate workshops involving operations, legal, technology and senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain key operating decisions, risks and agreed outcomes.
  • Develop and review forms, correspondence, templates and customer guidance.
  • Work closely with external consultants and technology delivery partners.
  • Provide clear progress updates and recommendations to senior leadership.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Senior Business Analyst or consultant with a background in complex transformation, regulatory change or operating model design.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Strong business analysis, process design and operating model experience.
  • Experience translating legislation, regulation or policy into operational requirements.
  • Strong requirements gathering, user story and acceptance criteria experience.
  • Salesforce or comparable case-management system experience.
  • Excellent process mapping and future-state design capability.
  • Experience working within insurance, claims, financial services, government or another regulated industry.
  • Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Confidence working with senior executives, legal teams, SMEs, consultants and technology teams.
  • Previous Big Four or major consulting experience would be highly regarded.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience.

What you'll get in return
This is a highly visible 12-month contract offering the opportunity to influence a significant insurance and regulatory transformation programme.

You will work with senior leadership, insurance specialists, legal stakeholders and technology partners to help shape how major reforms are implemented operationally.

The role is based in Melbourne CBD, with hybrid working arrangements following the initial onboarding period.

The proposed day-rate for this position is up to $1100 per day plus superannuation.
