The Opportunity: 

This position will be responsible for the efficient operation of the headspace ‘front end’ reception and primary care GP practice. You will be the first point of contact for a range of young people 12- 25 years, including those who may be experiencing mental health problems.

About you? 

Do you have experience in the following? Then this role is for you! 

  • Reception and administration experience in a medical setting 
  • Organising appointments 
  • Engage and liaising with GPs and Allied Health Professionals 
  • Collect client Minimum Data Set (MDS) 
  • Monitor and record vaccine fridge temperatures twice daily, 
  • Liaise with Medicare, IT contractors and process online MBS billings, data entry and performing various administrative duties. 

Essential Criteria 

  • High level of computer literacy and the use of appointment software and databases 
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, internet, email, publishing and appointment software). 
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to confidentiality principles. 
  • High level of organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work, multi-task, meet deadlines and respond to requests at short notice. 
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to difficult and/or stressful situations in a calm, sensitive and professional manner. 
  • Sound knowledge of medical software, the Medicare system and processing of online Medicare payments is preferable. 

The successful applicant will possess or willingness to obtain the following: NSW Working with Children Check, National Criminal History Check, First Aid & CPR certificate and undertake a pre-employment functional medical.
