Registered Psychologist | Paediatrics | Newcastle

Newcastle, NSW | Full-time | Registered Psychologist

Are you a Registered Psychologist who wants to do meaningful work without feeling like you're constantly chasing KPIs?

Maybe you're looking for more time with your clients, greater clinical autonomy, strong multidisciplinary support, or simply a workplace where you can enjoy being a Psychologist again.

MARS Healthcare is partnering with a well-established allied health organisation in Newcastle that takes a genuinely collaborative approach to supporting children, young people and families.

Their focus is on relationships, connection and helping children and families build greater independence, with clinicians given the time, support and autonomy to deliver quality therapy.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a full-time Registered Psychologist to join a growing multidisciplinary team.
You'll work with children, adolescents and young people, supporting a range of developmental, behavioural, emotional and learning needs.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Provide evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention
  • Work with children, teenagers and families across a range of presentations
  • Build genuine relationships with clients and their families
  • Develop individualised therapy goals based around the person, not just the diagnosis
  • Support emotional regulation, social skills, behaviour, anxiety, confidence and everyday participation
  • Work alongside Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Behaviour Support Practitioners, Allied Health Assistants and other clinicians
  • Work across clinic, home, school and community settings where appropriate
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment, planning and intervention
  • Develop your own areas of clinical interest and expertise
  • Have the autonomy to work in a way that aligns with your clinical style and experience

Why Join?

This organisation understands that great clinical outcomes start with supported clinicians.
You'll receive:

  • No unrealistic KPIs
  • A sustainable caseload focused on quality outcomes
  • A full-time position with a supportive and flexible working environment
  • Regular clinical supervision and mentoring
  • Access to ongoing professional development
  • Support to pursue your own clinical interests and areas of specialisation
  • The opportunity to work alongside experienced allied health professionals
  • A genuinely collaborative multidisciplinary environment
  • Regular team connection and social activities - Farm days, Equine therapy sessions
  • Career development opportunities as the organisation continues to grow
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • x2 Therapy dogs in practice
  • Employee referral bonus program

The Clinical Approach

The focus is on understanding the whole person, rather than simply treating a diagnosis or working towards a set of predetermined goals.

You'll have the time to understand each child or young person, build a strong therapeutic relationship and develop strategies that can make a genuine difference to their everyday life.

This could include supporting emotional regulation, confidence, relationships, behaviour, social participation, school engagement and family relationships.

There are also opportunities to work closely with other disciplines, creating a genuinely collaborative and holistic approach to care.

About You

We're looking for a Registered Psychologist who:

  • Holds general registration with AHPRA
  • Has experience working with children, adolescents and/or families
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Values relationship-based and person-centred practice
  • Enjoys working collaboratively with other disciplines
  • Brings warmth, curiosity and creativity to their work
  • Is comfortable working autonomously while still valuing clinical support
  • Wants to continue developing their clinical skills and areas of interest

If you're an experienced Psychologist looking for a supportive, collaborative environment where you can focus on doing good clinical work, we'd love to hear from you.

If you're a Psychologist who wants to have the time to build relationships, work collaboratively and actually enjoy the clinical work you do, this could be a very different kind of opportunity.
