HR Business Partner | Contract to January 2027

Hays is partnering with a highly regarded local government organisation to recruit an experienced HR Business Partner to join their People & Culture team on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a broad partnering role and make an immediate impact by supporting organisational initiatives, employee engagement and leadership capability.
Your new role
Reporting into the People & Culture leadership team, you will partner with managers and employees across a varied workforce, providing expert HR advice and support across the full employee lifecycle. The role will support both corporate and operational business units and play a key role in driving engagement, performance and culture initiatives.
- Providing trusted HR business partnering support to leaders across the organisation.
- Coaching managers on performance management, employee relations and workforce matters.
- Supporting employee engagement initiatives, including engagement survey action planning.
- Contributing to organisational change and workforce planning projects.
- Assisting with workplace investigations and complex people matters.
- Partnering with stakeholders to deliver practical and people-focused HR solutions
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in a HR Business Partner
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Exposure to employee relations, performance management and organisational change.
- Experience supporting both white-collar and operational workforces.
- Well-developed problem-solving and communication skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources
