About the Branch
The Human Resources Branch delivers high quality operational and strategic HR services that support the Royal Australian Mint to achieve its strategic objectives, through its most valuable asset, its People.  We ensure that the Mint attracts, develops, and retains a skilled, diverse and engaged workforce.  Our services include payroll, recruitment, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, complaints and resolution and HR policy development and implementation.

About the Role
The APS 5 Human Resources Workforce Officer supports the delivery of payroll services, workforce planning, establishment management, workforce reporting, recruitment activities, and HR advisory services across the Mint.

The role contributes to workforce strategies and operational HR functions by providing payroll support, data analysis, workforce insights, process improvement recommendations, and high-quality advice to managers and employees.

Working under limited direction, the APS 5 Workforce Officer exercises sound judgement, applies HR policy and legislation, and collaborates with stakeholders to support organisational workforce capability and strategic workforce initiatives.

The Duties
The duties of this position include:
1.    Supporting the completion of accurate and compliant payroll processing in collaboration with the Mint’s outsourced payroll provider (Aurion).
2.    Administering the HRMIS (Aurion), including liaising with the external provider and supporting users of employee self-service and e-recruitment.
3.    Support the development and implementation of workforce planning activities and strategies.
4.    Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities including vacancy management, advertising, assessment processes, engagement documentation, and onboarding.
5.    Maintain workforce establishment records and position management processes.
6.    Prepare employment documentation, workforce correspondence, and reports.
7.    Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and workforce practices.
8.    Interpret and apply relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, workplace policies, and APS frameworks.
9.    Contribute to the review and improvement of HR processes, procedures, and systems.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working in Government Human Resources, Workforce Plannin, Recruitment, or a related field. 
  • Knowledge of APS legislation, policies, and employment conditions is desirable. 


Security

This position requires a Baseline security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtainand maintain a clerarance at this level.
