Our client operates a large-scale enterprise network environment spanning multiple corporate locations, retail sites and data centres across South Australia. With significant investment being made in infrastructure modernisation and network transformation initiatives, they are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join their highly skilled technology team and contribute to several business-critical projects.

Your new role
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will provide expert technical leadership across network architecture, design, implementation and operational support within a complex Cisco-based environment. Working closely with infrastructure and security teams, you will lead strategic network improvement initiatives while supporting the delivery of high-priority infrastructure projects.Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing network architecture solutions and high-level design documentation.
• Leading enterprise network transformation and optimisation initiatives.
• Providing advanced troubleshooting across corporate, retail and data centre environments.
• Supporting security platform migration and integration activities.
• Managing and optimising Cisco networking infrastructure and F5 load balancing technologies.
• Delivering infrastructure enhancement projects and resolving technical challenges.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure network stability, resilience and performance.
• Providing technical guidance and leadership across project and operational teams.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Extensive experience operating as a Senior Network Engineer within a large enterprise environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Cisco Catalyst
  • Cisco Nexus
  • Cisco Nexus Dashboard
  • Enterprise routing and switching
  • Wireless networking technologies
• Experience supporting and administering F5 Load Balancers.
• Strong network architecture and solution design expertise.
• Experience developing High-Level Designs (HLDs) and technical documentation.
• Demonstrated success troubleshooting complex enterprise and data centre networks.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and technologies.

Highly regarded:

• Palo Alto Networks experience.
• Fortinet experience.
• Telecommunications industry background.
• Exposure to DWDM and CWDM technologies.
• Experience supporting carrier-grade or high-capacity fibre networks.
• Previous involvement in network transformation or modernisation programmes.
