In partnership with Toll Aviation, Gunggandji Aerospace is supporting the delivery of South Australia's State Police, Ambulance and Rescue Aviation Service (SPARAS), which provides critical aviation support across police, ambulance and rescue operations throughout the state.As part of the establishment of a new Aviation Operations Centre at Adelaide Airport, we're seeking an Operations Controller to join a highly professional and supportive team.

Your new role
Working within the Aviation Operations Centre on a rotating roster, you'll support the coordination, monitoring and reporting of emergency aviation missions across South Australia.No prior aviation experience is required. Comprehensive paid training will be provided, including nationally recognised aviation industry qualifications and on-the-job operational training. We are looking for candidates with a positive attitude, strong reliability & willingness to learn.

  • Coordinate flight-following and tasking activities for emergency aviation missions.
  • Monitor aircraft, crew and mission status in real time.
  • Maintain communication with key stakeholders and operational personnel.
  • Capture operational information and prepare reports.
  • Support emergency response activities in line with established procedures.
  • Complete detailed and accurate operational handovers.
  • Assist with crew coordination and roster management activities.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
  • Support service continuity during operational disruptions while working within established safety and fatigue management frameworks.

What you'll need to succeed
Availability to work a rotating 24/7 roster, including weekends and public holidays.Confidence using computer systems and ability to learn multiple platforms.Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.Excellent communication skills and a calm, professional approach.A commitment to maintaining a drug and alcohol-free workplace.The ability to successfully obtain:

  • National Police Check
  • Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Working with Children Check
Full Australian working rights. Availability to commence from late August 2026. Ability to attend initial training in Sydney. Previous experience in aviation, emergency services, logistics, dispatch, operations or coordination roles are highly regarded but not essential.
