SM Painting & Maintenance Services Pty Ltd is a professional painting and property maintenance business based in Northgate, South Australia. We provide painting and associated maintenance services to residential and commercial clients across Adelaide.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Painter to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out a range of painting, decorating and surface preparation tasks across residential and commercial projects. The role requires sound technical knowledge, attention to detail and the ability to complete work safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Erect scaffolding and ladders and protect adjacent areas using drop sheets and other protective materials.
• Prepare surfaces by removing old paint, repairing defects, filling cracks and holes, and smoothing surfaces ready for painting.
• Select, mix and prepare paints, varnishes, stains and other coatings to achieve required colours and finishes.
• Apply paints, varnishes, stains and other finishes using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
• Hang wallpaper, match patterns and trim edges where required.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality, consistency and an appropriate professional finish.
• Clean and maintain painting tools, equipment and work areas.
• Repair and prepare window frames and replace glass where required.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and safe work practices at all times.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to complete projects within required timeframes.

Skills and Experience

• Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant painting experience preferred.
• Sound knowledge of painting materials, surface preparation methods and application techniques.
• Ability to use brushes, rollers, spray equipment and other painting tools safely and effectively.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
