Procurement Officer – Food Manufacturing
Greenacre, NSW | Full-time, permanent | On-site | $90K + Super
Our client is a fast-growing, large-scale food manufacturing business based in Greenacre. With turnover growing more than tenfold in four years, they've built a genuinely high-volume production operation and are now investing in the people to match the scale - starting with this role in their procurement team.

About the role
This isn't a transactional buying role. You'll be joining a business processing hundreds of tonnes of product a week, where 80% of production runs off a small core of critical SKUs - so getting the plan right matters. You'll work between production planning and procurement, forecasting and managing supply against manufacturer lead times of 6–14 weeks, rather than reacting once something's run out.

You'll work alongside an experienced, long-standing member of the planning team, and will be expected to bring fresh ideas and rigour to a function that's currently very manual, the business is partway through an ERP rollout and needs someone comfortable improving process along the way.

What you'll be doing

  • Developing and managing supply plans against manufacturer lead times, working proactively rather than reactively
  • Bridging demand and production planning with procurement execution
  • Managing supplier relationships across domestic and overseas supply
  • Maintaining accuracy across a small number of high-impact SKUs where errors carry real cost
  • Supporting the transition from manual, Excel-based processes to a new ERP system
  • Working closely with an existing supply chain team to strengthen and challenge current ways of working

What we're looking for

  • Experience in supply planning, demand planning, or procurement within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics (AX/D365) or similar ERP systems highly regarded
  • A planning mindset - comfortable forecasting and managing long lead times, not just processing purchase orders
  • High attention to detail and reliability; this role has real bottom-line impact
  • Someone who wants to be part of building better process, not just maintaining the status quo
  • Food or dairy manufacturing background is a bonus, not a requirement

What's on offer

  • The chance to shape a growing function within a business scaling rapidly
  • A collaborative, hands-on team environment
  • Full-time, on-site role in Greenacre
