  • Realise the full extent of your leadership mettle in an environment where change and evolution is the norm
  • A role that has work-life balance…and it is expected!
  • A fantastic package, we are looking for the markets best

Your prospective employer:
...is a trusted (all things) furniture brand that is taking the market by storm. Offering a clear market position in which well-designed and stylish furniture meets value; customers keep coming back for its classic, modern and directional furniture range that suits any home or space. Making life simpler, easier and faster for its customers and creating a fun and rewarding working environment for its employees; this organisation is nipping hard at the heels of its competitors. Success is achieved in the Merchandise Division through the application of strategic, buying, trading and planning practices and the ability to translate trend, needs and the ‘wants’ to that of their customers.  A niche marketing program supports their merchandise strategy, creating a fast-paced working environment that is in-tune with the market. The opportunity to join the business, into one of their highest profile, senior roles heading up the Furniture category (Hards vs Upholstery), is nothing short of career-defining.

What will you do?

  • You will bring your experience to the forefront as you strategically and commercially build a compelling vision for the Hard Furniture category, which will continue to deliver innovative and on trend ranges, creating ongoing ‘reasons to shop’
  • Ensure the actions are in place to deliver sales, income and inventory targets that will continue to positively impact store and category performance
  • Work with the business cross-functionally to influence all areas of the organisation, ensuring your strategy is aligned to all aspects of the operational reality
  • Be focused on growth and sustainability of the business and the Hard Furniture portfolio through competitive and profitable promotions
  • Be continually enhancing the value proposition that drives excellence in service and delivers strong sales and profit results

Here’s what it will take:

  • Proven success as a Senior Category Manager, Senior Product Manager and/or Senior Buyer within a Retailer with deep experience in the sourcing and development of the Hard Furniture category. Important will be a strong technical knowledge around construction, timber, finishes etc.
  • You have an eye for commercial ranging and are style and trend-driven and it goes without saying, you have an absolute passion for all things Furniture and Home
  • You have exceptional skills in inventory management and product development as well as negotiating and building supplier/manufacturer relationships
  • You are a natural go-getter, with the 'will' and 'want' to make a difference
  • Authenticity: this oozes from your every pore
  • Inspiring & team focused: You have drive, determination and commitment that inspires others and are always ‘in it for the team’
  • You deliver ranges with a difference. You are innovative in your thinking, and you really 'get' your customer
  • You are equally happy to work strategically as you are to 'roll your sleeves up’ and manage the category from concept right through to ‘on shelf.’
