About the role:
We’re looking for an experienced professional with PIAWE experience within the general workers compensation insurance scheme. Alternatively, we’d also love to hear from candidates with strong senior-level payroll experience and relevant transferable skills.
In this role, you will hold full responsibility for overseeing and ensuring the accurate and timely payment of workers’ benefits. You will manage the end-to-end benefits process, including the calculation of weekly entitlements, monitoring ongoing payments, and maintaining a portfolio of claims.
You will also play a key leadership role within the team, providing mentorship and guidance while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This is a critical position that supports the integrity and effectiveness of our benefits delivery.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Oversee and manage the accurate and timely payment of workers’ benefits
- Approve weekly benefit payments within delegation of authority
- Monitor and maintain a portfolio of claims, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
- Identify, code and process complex payments within the claims system
- Ensure employment and compensation data is up to date and accurate
- Manage internal and external stakeholder enquiries related to worker entitlements
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal guidelines
- Mentor and support team members to drive performance and consistency
- Collaborate to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
- Maintain a strong customer-focused approach aligned with CMI values
About you:
Your education, experience and skills will include:
- Strong experience in workers compensation, ideally within a claims environment
- Demonstrated experience managing or overseeing benefit payments
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Leadership or mentoring experience (highly regarded)
