Portfolio Analyst | Planning & Performance

Leading insurance organisation is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to support the planning and performance of a portfolio spanning strategic, tactical and marketing initiatives.
You will help assess investment priorities, monitor delivery capacity and track whether initiatives are delivering their intended benefits. Your analysis will give senior leaders a clear view of portfolio performance and support decisions about funding, resources and priorities.
The role

• Support annual and quarterly portfolio planning, including prioritisation workshops and maintaining the investment pipeline.
• Analyse demand against delivery capacity to inform resource allocation and planning.
• Develop scenario models and evaluate investment options to support funding decisions.
• Support business case development, validate benefits and track benefits realisation.
• Analyse portfolio performance, identify trends and highlight risks and opportunities.
• Track growth objectives, marketing expenditure and associated business outcomes.
• Prepare clear reports, presentations and recommendations for senior leaders and investment governance forums.
• Identify opportunities to improve portfolio performance and return on investment.
• Support capacity allocation and resource planning decisions.
• Conduct portfolio scenario modelling and analysis.

 
About you
You will bring sound experience in portfolio analysis / management, PMO, business performance, strategy or consulting, with strong analytical skills and a sound understanding of financial and business performance data.
You will also have:

• Experience supporting portfolio planning, prioritisation, investment governance or benefits management.
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and scenario analysis.
• Strong PowerPoint skills and experience preparing presentations for senior stakeholders.
• The ability to turn complex information into clear insights and practical recommendations.
• Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Experience in insurance, financial services would be highly regarded, alongside exposure to Agile. Familiarity with Power BI, Jira, Confluence, SAFe or Lean Portfolio Management would also be beneficial.

The role will commence as a day rate contract paying $800 + super / day.

Based in Sydney CBD with 2 – 3 days / week in the office.
