We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan, organize, and direct food preparation and cooking activities.
  2. Develop, review, and modify menus to meet quality standards and customer preferences.
  3. Estimate food requirements and control food and labour costs.
  4. Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff to ensure efficiency and teamwork.
  5. Coordinate recruitment and training of kitchen personnel when required.
  6. Oversee kitchen equipment purchases, maintenance, and repairs.
  7. Manage stock ordering, inventory control, and supplier relationships.
  8. Prepare staff rosters and coordinate daily kitchen operations.
  9. Demonstrate cooking techniques and guide team members.
  10. Address customer complaints and kitchen-related issues professionally and promptly.
  11. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, nutrition, and workplace health and safety regulations.
  12. Maintain food safety programs and associated documentation.
  13. Monitor and enforce Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) standards.
  14. Build and maintain positive working relationships with staff and management.
  15. Manage time effectively during food preparation and service periods.
  16. Identify and resolve operational issues efficiently.

Skills and Qualifications

  1. Proven experience as a Chef in a busy hospitality environment.
  2. Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  3. Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations.
  4. Up-to-date understanding of culinary trends and process optimisation.
  5. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office, POS systems, and restaurant management software.
  7. Health and Safety training credentials.
  8. Culinary school diploma or qualification in food service management (preferred).
