About the Business

Tiger Eye Bar & Restaurant is a well-established hospitality venue located at The Barracks in Brisbane City, Queensland. The venue offers a professional dining and bar experience with a strong focus on quality food, service standards and customer satisfaction.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Chef / Chef to join the kitchen team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will work closely with the Head Chef and assist with the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including preparation, cooking, service coordination, kitchen organisation and maintaining high food quality standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Assisting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and service preparation
• Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes according to venue standards
• Supporting smooth lunch, dinner, and weekend service periods
• Maintaining consistency in food quality, taste, portion control, and presentation
• Assisting with menu preparation, food planning, and kitchen workflow
• Monitoring stock levels, food storage, ordering needs, and wastage control
• Ensuring all food is handled, prepared, and stored in accordance with food safety requirements
• Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
• Supporting and guiding junior kitchen staff where required
• Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team to deliver a positive customer experience

Skills and Experience Required

Applicants must have:

• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience as a Chef or Senior Chef
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
• Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen operations and food preparation
• Ability to assist the Head Chef with daily operational requirements
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant and bar environment
• Strong attention to detail, presentation, and consistency
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
• A reliable, professional and positive attitude
• Current Australian work rights at the time of application
