HR Business Partner
Southbank, Melbourne
We’re looking for a strategic HR Business Partner with a growth mindset to be a part of our Business Unit leadership team. Working closely with our leaders, managers and employees you’ll lead and deploy organisational development, talent, capability and change management plans and deliver on the overall people strategy for the Business Unit and Function. This is a dynamic and exciting role for someone who can combine commercial acumen with HR advisory to solve people and business challenges.
We are seeking a high‑energy, agile and confident HR Business Partner who excels at building strong relationships, influencing leaders, and delivering both strategic and hands‑on people initiatives.
This role partners with business unit Technology Australia and New Zealand and our corporate Enabling Functions in Australia, working closely with the Business Unit and Functional leaders to deliver HR initiatives that lift performance, build capability, and strengthen engagement and culture. It’s ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and brings a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
What You’ll be Doing
Strategic & Generalist HR
- Deliver HR strategies aligned to business goals
- Lead short and long‑term people initiatives
- Contribute to organisational design and change activities
- Lead culture and engagement planning and initiatives
- Use HR insights and data to guide decisions
Talent, Capability & Workforce Planning
- Lead succession planning, talent reviews and capability development
- Support workforce planning, job evaluation and benchmarking
- Collaborate with leaders on capability roadmaps
- Coach leaders and managers on creating high performing teams
- Facilitate training using Group programs
- Drive recruitment planning strategies
Performance, Rewards & HR Cycles
- Guide leaders through performance reviews and goal setting
- Deliver on annual salary and bonus review cycles
- Prepare compensation modelling and salary proposals
- Provide advice on performance management
Employee Relations
- Manage employee relations cases to resolve employee grievances
- Advise leaders on local employment laws
- Coach managers through difficult conversations
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated HR Business Partner experience
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
- Experience across culture, engagement, talent, performance, reward, organisational change and employee relations
- Ability to interpret and use HR data and metrics
- Experience in science, technology and services industries is viewed favourably but not a strict requirement
