This is a key HR position based in Sydney to support an SEA workforce, including China.
Your new role
As the HR Business Partner, you will partner closely with leaders across several South East Asia business divisions, including China, providing strategic and operational HR support across the employee life cycle for circa 120 employees.
You will be a key business partner based in Australia as the bridge and conduit of the wider people strategies and operational processes to ensure delivery and consistency in overseas businesses.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with local and Chinese-based leaders to deliver operational advice and delivery on people strategies across international client group
  • Providing coaching and advice on employee relations, Chinese employment legislation, HR queries and complex employee issues
  • Coaching employees and managers through performance management conversations
  • Onboarding and offboarding
  • Payroll coordination for overseas employees in multiple countries
  • Recruitment including talent pooling, sourcing, interviewing and all new starter administration
  • Remuneration & benefits management and reporting
  • HR compliance, auditing and policy development for overseas employees with adherence to local legislation
  • You will be expected to converse in both English and Mandarin as part of the role

What you'll need to succeed

  • To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced HR Manager or HR Business Partner with experience in a commercial, global environment
  • You MUST be fluent in Mandarin and English, have experience of working with and supporting Chinese-based workforces
  • Chinese expertise in recruitment and employment law is ESSENTIAL
  • Experience with payroll and strong skills in compliance and processes would be ideal
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in both fluent English and Mandarin
  • Previous experience of working in an HR team and being part of a wider global organisation
  • You must be an Australian Citizen or a Permanent Resident
